Mikra

The southern terminus, and the station that matters most to anyone flying.

The airport

The metro does not reach the airport. The link is bus line X3, which runs from Mikra station to "Makedonia" Airport. The line began operating alongside the extension on 27 August 2026 and carries a special fare of €2.00, different from the standard metro ticket.

The trip from Mikra to the centre takes about 15 minutes, while the New Railway Station is roughly 24 to 26 minutes away.

Other connections

Line M2 also starts at Mikra, running to the IKEA shopping centre at the standard city fare, while lines 6A/6B and 7T connect the station with Kalamaria and Nea Elvetia.

If you have an early flight, allow time for the transfer at Mikra and check the metro's hours: services begin at 05:15.
